The New York-based restaurant Serendipity 3 sells the world's most expensive dessert, the Golden Opulence Sundae which costs about $1000. The lavish dessert contains the finest Tahitian vanilla ice cream infused with Madagascar vanilla. The dessert is drizzled with most expensive chocolate, Amedei Porcelana, and topped with chunks of the rare Venezuelan Chuao chocolate. The almonds sprinkled on this dish are coated in gold and the candied fruit used as a garnish has been soaked for many months and brought in from Paris. This dessert rests in a small glass container of Grand Passion Caviar infused with passion fruit, orange and Armagnac. This desert is wrapped in edible 23-carat gold leaf. It is finally embellished with a sugar flower, which takes eight hours to complete, along with chocolate truffles and marzipan cherries. The sundae is presented in a $300 Baccarat Harcourt crystal goblet, which is given to the customers as a memento. It takes 2 days to create this dish.
2)THE WHITE TRUFFLE BAGEL
Executive Chef Frank Tujague of New York's Westin Hotel has created the world's most expensive bagel by topping it with white truffle cream cheese and a Riesling jelly infused with goji berries with golden leaves. White truffle is the second most expensive food item in the world and goji berries are highly priced due to their remarkable healthy attributes. The ionic masterpiece is available for breakfast only during the winters only. This dish costs about $1000.
3)THE GOLDEN PHOENIX CUPCAKE
The bloomsbury outlet at the Dubai Mall serves the world's most expensive edible cupcake called The Golden Phoenix Cupcake which costs about $1000. All the major ingredients are specially imported from around the world. The organic flour and butter comes from the United Kingdom, while the chocolate used is Premium Amedei Porcelana Cocoa from Italy. The high-quality vanilla beans are flown in from Uganda. A 23-carat edible gold sheet and strawberries dipped in gold are added to the dish. The entire masterpiece is served on a 24-carat gold cake stand under a cloche. It takes 24 hours to create this dish.
4)JUNNI BAN
The Seattle-based food truck Tokyo Dog serves the world's most expensive hot dog called Junni Ban which costs about $169. The hot dog contains a smoked cheese , bratwurst, butter teryaki grilled onions, Maitake Mushrooms, Wagyu beef, foie grass shaved black truffles, caviar and Japanese mayonnaise. These ingredients are all tucked into a soft brioche. It takes about 2 weeks to create this dish.
